This puppet craft inspired me after my 2 year old son and I visited the library for a toddler program. Once we left, we were given a cut out frog. Then I thought, why not make some fun puppets with the kids?
This craft was inspired by the song “5 Green And Speckled Frogs”. We made the craft and practiced our show. We would sing the song and every time a frog “jumped in the pool”, your child can drop their frog puppet in the pool (you get the picture)!
For older kids, you can make this a mosaic craft by cutting out mini green squares and have them cover the frogs in glue and stick the squares on top until they are covered.
Here is the craft below. I will also list some frog related songs you and your children can sing with their puppets.

*FROG SONGS
*FIVE GREEN AND SPECKLED FROGS
Five green and speckled frogs
Sat on a speckled log,
Eating some most delicious bugs.
Yum, Yum!
One jumped into the pool
Where it was nice and cool,
Then there were four green speckled frogs.
Ribbit, ribbit!
(Continue rhyme until all frogs jump into the pool)
*TWO LITTLE FROGS
Two little frogs sitting on a hill,
One named Jack and one named Jill.
“Jump” said Jack. “Jump” said Jill
And they both jumped off down the hill.
*IN THE POND
Tune: “The Farmer In The Dell”
The frog lives in the pond,
His tongue is oh so long.
It reaches high to catch a fly
And then he sings this song.
*Little Green Frog
Mmm mmm went the little green frog one day
Mmm mmm went the little green frog
Mmm mmm went the little green frog one day
And they all went mmm mmm ahhh!!
We all know frogs go ladedadeda
ladedadeda ladedadeda
We all know frogs go ladedadeda
ladedadeda ladedadeda
They don’t go mmm mmm ahh.
