Scarborough Ribfest is the summer’s largest community event in East Toronto. The Rotary Club of Scarborough runs Scarborough Ribfest as an annual festival and fundraiser. All moneys raised by the Rotary Club of Scarborough are donated to charitable projects in Scarborough, Toronto, and around the world.
This year, Ribfest will have 10 incredible Ribbers from all over Canada and the US, along with 20 other food vendors, a midway, and over 50 other craft vendors! To keep you cool, beer and coolers along with pop and water will be available at the two Rotary tents. 11 fantastic live bands will be providing live entertainment free during the weekend .For the young and young at heart, open mike Karaoke will start each day at 11 AM.

And new this year, Jump On! A new inflatable on-water attraction (fees apply) Summer is for kids, and so is Kempenfest.

Take a Magic Dragon Ride
Your first stop should be the Robertson Traveling Theme Park Midway – sure to thrill your kids for many hours. The hot attraction again this year is Drop Zone. Go ahead, join them for a tummy turning trip. Fun? Wow!

Kempenfest chooses to partner with Robertson Amusements because of their impeccable safety record, the clean and attractive rides, and their friendly and helpful staff. Have some fun at the midway.

And even if you take away everything Kempenfest has to offer your kids you’re still left with one the favourite parks there is in Barrie. Between the accessible playground, sandy white beach Centennial Park is one of Barrie’s most popular parks. So if all else fails, make sure you pack a swimsuit and go jump in the lake with your kids. You’ll both love it.

Stop by the Tim Hortons Family Centre where kids can paint our giant mural, or pick a mini bird house to paint, or do lots of other arts and crafts. There’s lots of games and activities, quiet places for nursing moms to take a break. Grab a bite to eat from Beavertails or Pita Pit. Surrounded by Centennial Beach and the Accessible Playground, the Tim Hortons Family centre is hosted by Barrie Lions and YMCA volunteers. Great thanks to Tim Hortons and Ontario for supporting this new adventure.

Fort York comes to life in honour of the first lieutenant-governor of Upper Canada (1793-96) and founder of Fort York and the Town of York – John Graves Simcoe.
Walk the historic grounds and thrill to musketry, artillery and music demonstrations presented by the Fort York Guard and Guards from Fort George National Historic Site of Canada and Old Fort Erie.
Visit the working kitchen in the 1815 Officers’ Brick Barracks, take tours of the Fort’s buildings, and delight in historical crafts and displays. This day also marks Emancipation Day.
Check out a special exhibit presented by the Ontario Black History Society in the Lobby of the Visitor Centre. Enjoy an evening performance by Jason Wilson’s Sumach Roots. This great day will celebrate the legacy of Fort York and its place in Toronto’s history.
