Not every hero wears a cape…but at the RHFES Fire Prevention Week Open House you can learn how YOU can be a hero in your home!
At the Open House, residents of all ages will learn many other important fire prevention tips including how smoke and carbon monoxide alarms save lives. They’ll also be able to experience what it’s like to be a firefighter by sitting in a fire truck, watching auto extrication demonstrations, and driving a fire truck in a simulator.
In celebration of the week’s importance, there will also be live entertainment, games and prizes, as well as a pancake breakfast and barbecue to enjoy (for a nominal fee while quantities last). Admission is free!

This event is part of Toronto History Museums’ Fall and Harvest Traditions programming. Scarborough Museum is one of 10 Toronto History Museums which explore where Toronto’s many pasts, presents and futures meet. The museum interprets the development of Scarborough from its founding and early settlement to its growth and emergence as a major suburb in the 20th century.

Touch the Trucks Toronto, benefiting SickKids Foundation, will bring together community, commercial, and emergency vehicles for a great cause. It will be a fun-filled morning for kids to explore and interact with vehicles of all types in a safe and supervised place.
The inaugural Touch the Trucks Toronto event will take place outside on Saturday, October 5th at Downsview Park.
Participants will have access to see, explore, and learn about the vehicles on-site between 9am and 1pm.

This event is part of Toronto History Museums’ Halloween programming. Mackenzie House is one of 10 Toronto History Museums which explore where Toronto’s many pasts, presents and futures meet. It interprets urban Victorian life of the 1860s and the evolution of democratic institutions through the lens of Toronto’s first Mayor William Lyon Mackenzie.
This program runs until October 27, 2019.
