ABOUT ROCK THE COLISEUM
Founded in 2006, Rock the Coliseum (RTC) has been an annual, all-ages, free music festival in Mississauga that celebrates and supports all genres of independent Canadian music, placing special emphasis on Mississauga talent. Simply put, RTC is a celebration of everything positive about the Mississauga music community.
Rock the Coliseum is a project of the Independent Music Initiative and the Canadian Community Arts Initiative – two not-for-profit organizations based in Mississauga, ON. RTC attracts and audience that is energetic, musically informed, and culturally diverse. 1 p.m.to 3 p.m.: Salamander Sleuthing and Guided Hike Last year we laid down cover boards as part of an ongoing monitoring project to track salamander populations. After overwintering, we’re hoping many salamanders have set up shop underneath! Become a citizen scientist by helping us flip boards and record species. We’ll also talk you through a guided walk through the property to see what other reptiles and amphibians we can find along the way!
Cost: Free! This event is family friendly.

The International Youth Festival will start at 2pm and will go until 9pm on Saturday, August 13th, 2016. Bradshaw, music by DJ Arkanyne, and a sundown glow in the dark paint party sponsored by Technocolour Dreams.

The event proceeds will go to Anti-Violence Educational Services (AV Youth) providing youth, an alternative to violence. There will also be awards given out to five inspiring youth and five youth champion adult awards as well.

Please bring out your families and join us for a very special memorial day. We will be having a Dove Release at 11:30am SHARP while we will be blowing bubbles. There will be fun hands on activities for the kids to celebrate the lives of this special family. This event is FREE, but we will have donation boxes on site which goes directly to help support Ed and Jennifer Neville-Lake, as they are unable to work.

There will be: Superfly DJ Dance Party (playing songs the kid’s loved), Minion, Rapunzel, Ariel, Chase from Paw Patrol (Treasure Your Moments Christmas Party), Batman, Superman & Wonder Woman (Emmanuel Decor), Face Painting (Fay’s Magic Moments), 2 Jumping Castles (by Jumparty), Hair Colour Spray (from Melon Heads) in the colours of the kid’s birth months, Crafts, and Food Trucks!

* We have 300 mini bubbles to give out. The bubbles are one per FAMILY on a first come first served basis. If there are remaining bubbles on the table, at 11:30pm, then families can come and take more for the ceremony. You are welcome to bring your own bubbles.
