ABOUT JSTIXX BABY

The J Stixx musical program is geared towards the child’s developmental age with modifications for each age. Each child gets to explore sounds and music in their own way along their own developmental trajectory. Our focus on the percussion family (bongos, tarbukas, tambourines, shakers, timbales, bells) provides a rhythmic way for children to explore sounds and rhythms.

The music selection and the specific movements encourage both gross and fine motor skills as well as muscle memory! Along with a fun class, research has shown that music and drums is associated with increased self esteem, attention, and with J Stixx’s movement integration, is a great way for kids to stay active.
Kids get to move, play instruments, and dance while having fun with J Stixx!

We offer different programs for different ages:
• J Stixx Baby: Children 3 months to 3 years

• J Stixx Preschool: Children 3 years to 5 years

• J Stixx Kids: Kids 6 years +

They offer programs in-home (as well as at various play centres across the GTA) and birthday parties.

*Skate for Sarah (North York)
9pm-6pm
Canlan Ice Sports- York University
989 Murray Ross Pkwy
North York, ON

The “Skate for Sarah” Ice Hockey Tournament & charitable event began in 2015, in honor of Sarah Watkin. Sarah passed away on November 2nd, 2014, after bravely battling a rare and extremely aggressive form of blood cancer. She was seven years old.

Many people in the community were connected in some way to Sarah, and have followed her incredible story over the past few years. The one day ice hockey tournament will honor Sarah, by raising funds for children dealing with pediatric disability and illness, and for youth scholarships for sports and recreational programs. It will also bring plenty of awareness for Sarah’s Drive for Hope, which encourages the need for blood and bone marrow donors.

The tournament features divisions for youth and adults, and is for all levels of play. There are no restrictions for any players that play in other house leagues or Rep teams.

The event also includes entertainment, family activities, and lots to do outside of hockey.

ABOUT SCHWARTZ/REISMAN CENTRE SWIM PROGRAM (VAUGHAN)

At SRC Swim, we offer classes seven days/week at all times of the day to meet your family’s needs. Many families find that coming once per week on a year-round basis allows their children to advance their swimming and maintain it year-round, while not overwhelming the family schedule.

Our facility is 2nd to none with 3 beautiful and warm salt water pools! Amenities include underground parking, onsite café, and free WiFi!

SRC Swim is certified by Red Cross and Lifesaving Society.

SRC Swim offers most levels at most times. So if you have multiple kids, we can schedule their lessons on the same day/time for ultimate convenience!

Experienced and certified instructors and several layers of expert supervisors and management to ensure a great experience for the kids (Instructors à Deck Supervisors à Lesson Coordinators à Aquatics Managers à General Manager).

SRC Swimming offers small group class sizes (4:1 ratio) and private lessons (1:1 ratio) in a nurturing learning environment. We strive to keep a small student to instructor ratio allowing our instructors to tailor the lessons to each child’s learning needs, while keeping a safe, fun and learning environment.
Our goal for all programs is to teach water safety and instill in all students a love for the water. Our technique to achieve water safety is to teach all of our students to “live in the water.” We find that the more a child enjoys the lessons the more successful the learning process is. Therefore, our first priority is to create a happy atmosphere for the kids.

SRC Swimming offers a comprehensive swim curriculum. We offer lessons for beginners through advanced levels. Our students have grown with us starting as infants and continue on to swim team. Many kids from our program have graduated to aquatic leadership programs and have become lifeguards and swim instructors.
