Fred Penner to headline 2018 festival!
National treasure and four-time Juno Award winner Fred Penner will headline the 2018 Oakville Children’s Festival on Sunday, July 8.
Families can expect to dance and sing along to hits like The Cat Came Back, Happy Feet and Moonlight Express.
As well as Fred Penner, iconic Canadian cartoon character Franklin the Turtle will make an appearance in a live musical production of Franklin and Friends Playdate!
Join us from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre (QEPCCC) located at 2302 Bridge Road, where the grounds will be transformed into an arts and culture playground for kids of all ages and abilities.

Help us celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Gertrude Bell. A renowned archaeologist during the nineteenth century, Bell was a trailblazer and founder of the Iraq Museum. She was a scholar and world traveler in a time when women rarely had these opportunities.
On Sunday, July 8, interact with artefacts from Oshawa’s Ancestral Wendat archaeological sites at our Sunday FUNday! Found in 1967 and 1992 these excavations have provided us a link to Oshawa’s pre-history.
Learn about tools of the trade, dating techniques and put together clay pots! View artefacts on display from past digs at the Museum.
Sunday FUNdays are held on the first Sunday of the month. Admission is free and allows you to interact with Museum staff and its collection.
