A BioBlitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species of animals and plants as possible in a specific area over a short period of time (often 24 hours). At a BioBlitz, kids, families, students, teachers, scientists, and other community members work together to get an overall count of the plants, animals, fungi, and other organisms that live in a particular place.
This year’s bioblitz will include a celebratory festival, with kids’ activities, live music, food trucks, renewable energy stations, educational programming, a climbing wall, and much more. The festival will take place on Saturday, June 24th from 10 am to 4 pm in Rouge National Urban Park, across the street from the Toronto Zoo.
