FREE Outdoor Parks In Ontario
FREE Outdoor Parks In Ontario

UPDATED! I have put together a list of FREE Outdoor Parks, Splash Pads, Beaches, Farms & Zoos. Please note that some places may charge for parking. I chose the most unique looking parks and splash pads to list. Some of them I have not yet visited but I plan to take my children to as many as I can.  If you are going to plan a beach visit, make sure to check online that it is safe to swim. I hope you enjoy and save lots and lots of money while still having a great time with your kids.

RAINY DAY BOXES

Post sponsored by: Creative Bag.

What is a Rainy Day Box, you ask?
It’s an activity filled box that you keep on hand to entertain your kids at home in the event of a rainy day. Each box contains a surprise such as crafts, books, a movie, or their favourite toy.

It’s easy to create your own Rainy Day Box. I created two different ones with my kids. To do what I did, all you need are the following items:

BOX #1:

White cardboard box
• Markers
• Stickers

FullSizeRender (3)

BOX #2

Black cardboard box
White chalk marker
• Ribbon

rainyday

It’s easiest to lay the box flat and have your child decorate the box with markers, stickers, ribbon or any other decoration of your choice, and then put the box together.

Once you’ve finished decorating your boxes with your kids, secretly stash the surprise inside for the next time it rains.

What I put inside the boxes:
• A craft Activity for each child
• Two books

I can’t wait until the next rainy day when my kids complain that they are bored! At least I’ll be prepared with something fun to do!
